Professor Anthony Carty is Emeritus Professor at the School of Law of Beijing Institute of Technology. He was previously Professor of Law at Tsinghua University, The University of Hong Kong and University of Aberdeen. He was also Visiting Professor at Universities of Paris I and II, Freie Universität Berlin and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He authored The Decay of International Law (1986, reprinted in 2019 with a new introduction) and Philosophy of International Law (2007), and also co-edited with Janne Nijman a book titled Morality and Responsibility of Rulers: European and Chinese Origins of a Rule of Law as Justice for World Order (2018).
