Over 30 seasoned legal practitioners, comprised of senior partners and heads of law firms coming from Shenzhen and Shanghai, were brought together to participate in this two-week Advanced Training Programme in Hong Kong.

The programme commenced with ‘Welcome Remarks’ delivered by Mr Zhang Bin (President of Shenzhen Lawyers Association), Ms Teresa Cheng GBM GBS SC JP (Founder Member & Co-Chairman of AAIL), Professor Huang Jiefang (Secretary-General of AAIL), Mr Nick Chan BBS MH JP (Director of AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre), and Mr Wang Xianjun (Director General of Futian District Justice Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality). The speakers unanimously stressed the importance of organising quality training on international law practice with the aim to deepen knowledge of international law, enhance professional competence as well as broaden international horizons.

During this programme, participants had lectures, roundtable discussions and visits to law firms and organisations in Hong Kong. The carefully devised programme covered practical training on international arbitration, cross-border litigation, and a good number of critical topics in the field of international law.

Participants expressed strong appreciation for the opportunity to be able to participate in this programme, which has facilitated exchanges with Hong Kong lawyers, consolidated their knowledge in international law as well as honed their skill in handling international affairs.
