Aiming to inspire exchange of views and promote joint efforts, this annual signature event of the Academy brought together a diverse audience of 220 local and overseas academics, legal practitioners, government officials, entrepreneurs and other professionals. It was graced with the presence of prominent speakers and distinguished guests, including the Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, Ms Teresa Cheng, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr Xie Feng, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong SAR, Professor Kennedy Gastorn, Secretary-General of AALCO, Dr Anthony Neoh, Chairman of the Academy, Professor Huang Jin, President of the Chinese Society of International Law etc. An array of distinctive yet closely intertwined topics in the area of international law were looked into, covering ‘Spurring Cross-Border Trade and Investment’, ‘Dispute Resolution – The Global Dimension’, ‘International Law – The Belt and Road Initiative’, as well as ‘Cybersecurity’.
