2026 Hong Kong Advanced Training Programme on International Law Practice

04–08 & 11–15 May 2026

This tailor-made programme was designed for 35 practicing lawyers coming from Shanghai, PRC. Through systematic and targeted practical training on key topics such as International Dispute Settlement, Intellectual Property, International Mediation Skills, Mock Mediation, Treaty Planning and Investment Arbitration, Mergers and Acquisitions, the programme aims to enhance mainland lawyers’ ability to handle international legal matters, be that international arbitration, cross border litigation, or foreign related legal practice.

A combination of expert led lectures and interactive exercises, including sessions of Mock Mediation and Mock Case on Cross-Examination, has greatly enhanced participants’ capability to respond to surging legal demands arising from cross border operations and regulatory coordination. By paying visits to renowned legal professional bodies and prestigious Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the meaningful discussions served as a launching pad for future collaboration.

This is an on-demand programme that provides participants with both theoretical and pragmatic insights.

What attendees say

• This Training Programme allowed us to immerse ourselves in Hong Kong’s legal services industry. The course design is rich in content and highly practical, and we are very much looking forward to continuing to participate in related courses in the future.

• The programme has been truly impressive and eye opening for me. All the instructors, including barristers, law firm partners, professors, and judges, have made extremely thorough preparations for their lectures. They delivered well structured, detailed presentations with comprehensive slides, and were highly responsible and professional in their teaching. They were also very open minded, encouraging us to ask questions and engage in discussions. I am truly thankful to every one of them.

• This two week programme was systematically structured around Hong Kong dispute resolution services, covering mediation, arbitration and litigation as its core framework. Alongside this core content, the course also supplemented related topics including international treaties, project financing, M&A, third party litigation funding and asset investigation. It also included content related to family offices and trusts, which are of great interest to mainland clients.

• The curriculum is scientifically designed, well organised and highly logical. It has exposed us to a great deal of new knowledge and practical insights that we had not previously encountered. I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to participate in similar training programmes in the future.
