WEBINAR

Why Hong Kong Is Irreplaceable

Organiser:
Asian Academy of International Law

Hong Kong is renowned for its long-standing solid legal system, and it has been playing a pivotal role in providing deal-making and dispute resolution services for major corporates and foreign investors as a vibrant international financial centre.

Even it’s been suggested that the business sector has started to consider other jurisdictions over Hong Kong as the place for deal-making and/or dispute resolution. The Asian Academy of International Law has gathered luminaries of the legal sector to share their first-hand experience, trusting it would lend a true perspective to the subject, affirming Hong Kong as a prime choice for deal-making and dispute resolution.

This event was honoured by the presence of Ms Teresa Cheng GBS SC JP, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR; Dr Anthony Neoh QC SC JP, Chairman of the Asian Academy of International Law; Mr Stephen Phillips, Director-General of Investment Promotion of the Invest Hong Kong; Mr Eddie Yue JP, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, as well as an array of top-notch practitioners, who shared their insightful observations and rich experience. Resonant with each other, expert speakers reiterated Hong Kong’s famed legal foundation, and conveyed their unswerving conviction in its strong legal framework that’s characterised as fair, transparent, and independent. Very well received by over 1,000 online registrants coming from 59 jurisdictions around the world as well as distinguished Consuls-General and representatives of consulates, this webinar has had very positive feedback, in particular as regards its topical nature. A series of webinars on Hong Kong are in the making in the wake of this webinar – more details will be announced in due course.
