AAIL’s Deputy Secretary General publishing in Asian Dispute Review

Drawing upon his expertise in the field of arbitration, Mr Adrian Lai JP, Deputy Secretary General of AAIL and Barrister of Des Voeux Chambers, recently published an article in the October 2023 issue of the Asian Dispute Review, titled ‘Mainland China’s Judicial Practice on the Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards and Interim Measures in Aid of Hong Kong Arbitrations’.

By reviewing a number of well-chosen judicial decisions and promulgations of Mainland Chinese courts, it explores Mainland China’s judicial practice in terms of the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, suggesting that courts have consistently adopted a pro-arbitration and pro-enforcement approach.

Moreover, it also considers Mainland China’s current legal regime, noting that it helpfully makes interim measures by Chinese courts available to parties to administered arbitrations seated in Hong Kong.
