AAIL had the honour of receiving the delegation of the Research Office of Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, which was led by Director Yang Zhaoye. Among the delegates was his deputy, Mr Zeng Junrong.

Dr Anthony Neoh (Co-Chairman of AAIL) and Professor Huang Jiefang (Secretary-General of AAIL) first gave an overall introduction of AAIL, then recapped some of our work done since 2016, highlighting certain significant initiatives such as the annual Colloquium on International Law, Hong Kong SAR Training Session of China-AALCO Exchange and Research Program on International Law, The Hague Academy of International Law’s Advanced Course in Hong Kong and the 8-episode video project titled ‘International Law – Global, yet, Local’.

The meeting then moved on to a discussion of other matters of common interest.
